I will be writing tweet sized poems every day this month as part of NaPoWriMo, as well as contributing to a Roundhouse Poetry Collective blog. A link to my Twitter page is above if you fancy following! Check https://www.facebook.com/napowrimo for info and prompts for your own writing!
I’m currently working on poems, with other members of the Burn After Reading Collective, in response to podcasts from this website. Here’s a particular favourite, entitled ‘Ben Franklin Death Ray,’ it’s short and beautiful, especially for the lines, ‘not only can he bottle lightning…’ and ‘[lightning rods] as a shield for God’s wrath.
I also got the chance to perform in the Curve Gallery with the other poets, a truly amazing experience to go echo hunting with our words!
Hello! I have a few of my poems recorded here if you fancy hearing how I talk, perform, throw them! I aim to record more soon, so stay tuned and hoping to film more performances too, once I can find cameras to follow me around….
An amazing gentleman and friend from over-the-sea very kindly translated ‘My Invisible Friend Is An Insomniac’ into Spanish. You can read it at the link below. You should also check the rest of his blog, there is some beautiful wordsmithing there! Thank you Mauricio González Álvarez!
An old performance poem of mine, dictaphone recorded and ready for listening. Warning, contains metaphors…
This is my Roundhouse 2013 Slam Competition poem, which managed to win the title along with Ronak Patani (who you should definitely check out) and Ben Norris, who came third. It’s for people who have invisible friends.
Here is my first uploaded sound, ‘Paul’ an early performative piece of mine depicting a potential scenario in the future. It was inspired by Banksy’s heart shaped balloon artwork and was originally a flash fiction. Contains balloons, shouting and a few swears. Check it out here, hope you enjoy!
